so i think that both the obama campaign and the romney campaign are missing an opportunity to make this connection to education reform conversation. so what we are looking for in our k-12 system is not going to happen until we start thinking about what is happening to these children and until we can recognize of the country how far behind we are and investing in those children and their families, and support their families. and i really think we can't just stop at kindergarten by any stretch of imagination. we have done a lot of work and early education system and what is kindergarten looking like and how were we thinking about science, research in the first grade years, second grade and all the way up actually through a child's young adulthood. how are we understanding their capacity to learn and are we actually financing that? so i want to get quickly three examples of where i see places where presidential and congressional candidates could be making a stronger case and are not. were when i hear the debates by go geez, they missed it again. how can they not be making these connections
